Dear Backers 🤘

We want to update everyone since wrapping up the Kickstarter campaign. Some highlights and more details!

• Pre-production for the first batch of headphones is complete ✅
• Designs for the first Heavys travel case have been finalized 🔒
• We made it to Duff’s in Brooklyn for a video shoot. Why below 🎸
  

Headphone Production:

Pre-production is complete, so what? This is a massive step closer to starting deliveries, and it means we’ve finalized partnerships with our suppliers and manufacturers. Next step is getting the initial test batch to run quality controls and ensure everything is top-notch. Until you have a pair of Heavys strapped around your dome, this is our number one, two, three, ad infinitum priority.

Travel Case:

You asked and we listened. After much demand for a Heavys travel case, we’ve worked with our design team to come up with a sleek and portable design to protect your Heavys. Building products that people actually want is why we got started, so please keep sharing your ideas, they might just become reality sooner than you think! We have an even bigger product update coming soon... Until then, check out the travel case design below  ⏬

Video Shoot at Duff’s:

If you’ve been to Duff’s in Brooklyn, you know it’s a special place for Metal fans.

A big thank you to Jimmy Duff himself for having us, the cherry on top was the hearse parked outside 💀. Through the Heavys community, we were able to gain full access to shoot a promotional video for one last crowdfunding splash that we will be announcing over the next 1-2 weeks. Hush hush till then :)

What’s on tap:

A sh*t ton of stuff. You’ll hear more about the campaign we mentioned above very, very soon. Meanwhile, we’re continuing to share Heavys with legends in the metal community to get feedback and push the boundaries of what’s possible.

Dear Backers 🤘

Two years ago we set out on a mission to create the best possible headphones for the best genre of music there is: Heavy Metal. 

Where else can you feel so connected to a room full of 100s or 1,000s of strangers then when seeing your favorite band rip up the stage? That's why we love metal so much- the community aspect of it all, the feeling of being a part of something bigger, it's almost like family (but you actually get to choose this one 🤣).  None of this was more obvious than through our campaign.

We did it together!!!

The number of people that reached out to us who said they were waiting for something like this, or how excited they were to get a pair, was staggering. People who were rooting for us from the beginning. 

People who took their time to read up on what were are doing. People that were fighting off haters in the comment section on our social media pages... that was all of you. We could not be more grateful for the support we have received from the Heavys community. We are just as excited as you are to get these out there to everyone. Thank you for helping our dream take one step closer to becoming a reality!

We wanted to thank you so much for your pledge and for supporting our project. The feedback we have been receiving from the community has been incredible.

A super important milestone achieved - We’ve validated our headphone’s natural sound field

Most headphones are built with the speaker perpendicular to your ear. Heavy's unique speaker location and acoustical setup generates a sound field that stimulates a natural, front-oriented sound field with tweeters. In order to test it, we met the expert of sound localization: Ronald Prent - Grammy Nominated Producer & Engineer. Ronald Prent is at the forefront of immersive audio production, mixing new albums in 5.1, Dolby Atmos, Sony 360 Reality Audio, and Auro-3D at his studio in upstate New York. Prent has long been a strong advocate for immersive music, going way back to the launch of the Super Audio CD format nearly two decades ago.

Heavys x Ross The Boss: Founding Member of Manowar & The Dictators

Ross the Boss is a guitarist and founding member of both the NYC influential punk band The Dictators and the heavy metal band Manowar. He co-founded two genre-defining bands and still writes and records new music. He has a new album coming out soon and is an active touring musician with a tour coming up with shows all over Europe and US tour also planned.

Dear Backers 🤘

First, we want to thank you guys for the support! Without you we’d never have been able to achieve our dreams. You’re in this with us. Having you guys on our side means more than we could ever say. Truly.

We are working with top industry folks to make sure you get the best possible product.

We met with legend Ben Weinman- musician, film composer, music manager, and the lead guitarist and primary songwriter of The Dillinger Escape Plan. Weinman was the founder and sole-constant member throughout the band's career, and is currently playing with Suicidal Tendencies and with the supergroup Giraffe Tongue Orchestra.

The Heavys Cables

The headphones arrive with a dual-purpose USB-C to USB-C that can be used for both charging and wired mode listening. The cable length is 1.4 meters (~4.59 ft).

If you want to listen in wired mode through an AUX connection, you can purchase AUX cables as add-ons. Heavys offers 2 lengths of 2.5 mm to 3.5 mm AUX cables: normal length 1.3 meters (~4.25 ft) or extra long 3 meters (~9.85 ft).

Huge thanks to everyone who has pledged so far!🤘🤘🤘

This has been an unbelievable start to the campaign! We're touched by the response to HEAVYS so far. We reached our goal in 12 minutes with over 2,200 headphones pledged.

We wanted to share with you some behind-the-scenes.

This week Jonathan traveled with the latest version of the prototype and met some of the top sound folks in the metal world. The goal was to get feedback and continue to improve and refine the product towards mass production.
